Shillington Park School - Opening January 2027
WandsworthTherapy
At Shillington Park School, therapeutic support will be embedded into everyday practice and lies at the heart of how pupils are helped to feel safe, settled and ready to learn. Emotional wellbeing, secure relationships and consistent routines provide the foundation for positive engagement and progress.
The Kedleston Group approach is nurturing and trauma‑informed, recognising that many pupils have experienced challenges that affect their ability to trust, regulate emotions or access learning. Staff use relational strategies and predictable structures to help pupils develop emotional understanding, resilience and confidence within a calm, supportive environment.
Shillington Park will be supported by an integrated therapeutic approach that combines whole‑school practice with targeted and individual interventions where needed. Therapeutic input may include small group work, personalised strategies and specialist support, carefully aligned to each pupil’s EHCP outcomes and developmental needs.
This flexible, needs‑led model ensures support adapts as pupils grow, enabling them to build self‑regulation, positive behaviour and a renewed confidence in learning. Through this embedded therapeutic approach, Shillington Park School helps pupils develop the emotional and social foundations they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
