Therapy

At Silverways School, therapeutic support is fully integrated into everyday school life and underpins both wellbeing and academic achievement. We believe pupils learn best when they feel safe, understood and emotionally supported, and this principle shapes everything we do.

Therapeutic thinking is embedded across the school through consistent routines, trusted relationships and a calm, structured environment. Staff use relational, supportive approaches that help pupils regulate emotions, build confidence and develop the readiness they need to engage with learning and achieve their potential.

Every pupil at Silverways has regular access to Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy as part of their school timetable. Therapeutic input is delivered through a flexible, needs‑led model that combines whole‑school strategies, targeted group work and personalised individual support, closely aligned to EHCP outcomes.

This integrated approach ensures that wellbeing and academic ambition go hand in hand. By supporting pupils’ emotional and communication needs alongside a robust, aspirational curriculum, Silverways helps young people develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to succeed in further education, training and future pathways.
