Ofsted Report
Our school is inspected regularly by Ofsted under the national inspection framework for non‑association independent special schools. Under the updated framework being implemented from November 2025, Ofsted evaluates schools across six core areas:
- Inclusion
- Curriculum and teaching
- Achievement
- Attendance and behaviour
- Personal development and wellbeing
- Leadership and governance
Inspections now result in a detailed Ofsted report card, rather than a single overall judgement. Each evaluation area is graded individually using Ofsted’s new five‑point scale:
- Exceptional
- Strong standard
- Expected Standard
- Needs Attention
- Urgent Improvement
Ofsted has highlighted that ‘Expected Standard’ represents a high bar, indicating that pupils’ experiences and outcomes meet a strong national benchmark.
The new report card format provides clearer insight into a school’s strengths, the standards it meets, and areas for ongoing development. This approach enables parents and carers to gain a more transparent and detailed understanding of school performance.
