Fernways School

Our KS2 students have been reading Leon and the Place Between. The sensory room was set up like the magical space with coloured lights, music and items hanging from the ceiling; that are included in the book. The class pretended to be Leon flying on his magic carpet and finding a lonely rabbit. They talked about what they saw, thought and felt... ready to plan a diary entry about it ready for writing in the last week. The group explored what journeys are best done on foot. To develop these skills further they gave the other learners instructions to follow them to their favourite room, by following a plan of the school.
