For our pupils, success is more than sitting an exam — it’s about being ready for what comes next. We are proud that every single Year 11 pupil leaving Fernways this year has a confirmed next step in education, training, or employment.
Our students have taken up a wide variety of pathways that reflect their strengths, talents and ambitions. These range from mainstream college courses in subjects like Geography, Food & Nutrition, and Uniformed Services, to specialist settings where additional support is provided, and even supported apprenticeships that build skills for independence and working life.
Highlights from this year’s destinations
- Students accepted into mainstream colleges across Surrey and London.
- Specialist placements secured for young people needing smaller, tailored environments.
- Pupils moving into practical pathways such as catering, creative media and life skills.
- A supported apprenticeship for one student who discovered new confidence and leadership skills while at Fernways.
What stands out most is not the destination itself, but the transformation behind it. Many of our young people joined Fernways after long gaps in education or with a deep reluctance to attend school. To see them now, moving forward with confidence, is the truest measure of their success.
As a school, we remain in close contact with families and further education providers to make sure transitions are smooth and pupils continue to thrive. Our role doesn’t end at Year 11; we take pride in knowing our leavers carry the values of creativity, confidence and community into the wider world.
