Therapy

At High Peak School, therapeutic support is embedded throughout the school day and is central to how pupils are supported to engage, learn and thrive. Emotional wellbeing, regulation and positive relationships are prioritised as the foundation for academic progress and personal development.

Our approach is highly relational and child‑centred. Staff work closely with an in‑house clinical team to provide consistent, trauma‑informed strategies that help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn, particularly those who have experienced anxiety, emotionally based school non‑attendance, or barriers to engagement.

High Peak benefits from a multidisciplinary on‑site therapeutic provision, including Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Clinical and Educational Psychology. Therapeutic input is delivered through a flexible, needs‑led model that combines whole‑school practice, targeted group work and personalised individual support linked directly to EHCP outcomes.

For pupils who require a more bespoke approach, the RAISE Therapeutic pathway provides a calm, structured environment where wellbeing is prioritised and learning is re‑introduced at a pace that suits the individual. This flexible model ensures support adapts over time, enabling pupils to rebuild confidence, develop resilience and re‑engage positively with education.
