Led by Ryan Hervel, one of our Associate Assistant Headteachers, alongside Elizabeth and Rodney, the meeting began with a clear outline of expectations and purpose. Pupils were reminded that Pupil Voice is about improving our school community through respectful discussion and shared responsibility.
Throughout the session, pupils demonstrated our Three R’s in action: Respect, Relate, Respond.
They showed Respect by listening carefully to one another’s views about the school menu, lunchtime clubs and reward trips. They were polite, well behaved and engaged in positive dialogue. They showed they could Relate by considering different perspectives, working in pairs and collaborating thoughtfully on suggested changes. Most importantly, they were able to Respond constructively, offering practical alternatives such as new meal options, fresh clubs and exciting end-of-term reward trips
Pupil Voice exists to ensure our young people feel heard, valued and empowered. Today’s meeting reflected a mature and purposeful school community where student leadership is thriving and our Three R’s guide every conversation.
