As part of our learning about the community and the environment in PSHE, we are asking families to collect empty, washed plastic bottles over the coming weeks and half term, and bring them into school ready for Friday 13th November. We hope to collect enough bottles to give our pupils a real visual understanding of just how much plastic waste we generate and how we can reduce, reuse and recycle it. We will then put those bottles to good use through some fun, creative activities and games!
On the day, pupils are invited to wear something green or Pudsey related to join in the fun. Our normal lessons and timetable will remain unchanged, with all Children in Need activities taking place during our usual Enrichment time, so there will be no disruption to learning.
There is absolutely no expectation for families to donate money, as our focus this year is on working together, having fun and making a difference to our environment. However, if you would like to make a voluntary donation to BBC Children in Need, you can do so through their official website:
https://donate.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/
We are really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together. The more bottles we collect, the bigger the possibilities!
