Students explored the different stages of digestion, discovering how food is broken down, nutrients are absorbed and waste is produced. The highlight of the lesson was recreating the final stages of digestion by making their very own model poo! A fun, memorable and slightly messy way to bring human biology to life!

Year 7 Investigates Diffusion

Our Year 7 scientists have been investigating diffusion by exploring how quickly Potassium Permanganate spreads through water at two different temperatures. By observing the movement of the purple particles, students compared the rates of diffusion in hot and cold water and discovered how temperature affects the speed of particle movement. A fantastic hands-on experiment that brought particle theory to life and developed students’ scientific observation and investigation skills!
