Uniform Policy

At Leaways, we believe that having a smart school uniform helps our pupils feel valued, confident, and ready for the day’s learning. It promotes a sense of belonging and equality across the school, removing barriers and distractions so that pupils can focus on their progress.

We provide a practical and comfortable uniform designed with our pupils’ needs in mind. It is easy to wear, durable, and suitable for both classroom and outdoor activities.

Our uniform includes:

• White polo shirt.
• Black trousers or tailored skirt (knee length).
• Black school shoes or plain black trainers
• Optional Leaways fleece or jacket for colder weather

For PE and enrichment activities, pupils are provided with a Leaways PE kit, ensuring consistency and inclusion across all year groups.

We recognise that some families may need support with uniform provision. Leaways School is committed to ensuring that every pupil can wear the full uniform with confidence and dignity. Spare uniform sets are kept on site and can be provided discreetly if needed. Families experiencing financial difficulty are encouraged to contact the school so that we can offer assistance or direct them to suitable support routes.

Pupils are expected to arrive at school each day in full uniform, clean and presentable, ready to engage in learning. Staff remind and encourage pupils positively, helping them to understand the importance of self-care, pride and consistency.

Our aim is not to create barriers but to promote equality, readiness and belonging. By wearing the Leaways uniform, pupils demonstrate respect for themselves, their peers and the school community.

We ask families to support the school by ensuring pupils arrive each morning in full uniform, ready to learn and represent our school community with pride.
