Pupils from Mill School enjoyed a truly memorable experience when they took part in a special visit by The Princess Royal to the Margaret Haes Riding Centre in Bury, as the centre celebrated its 60th anniversary.
Visiting in her role as Vice-Patron of the British Horse Society, The Princess Royal spent time observing pupils from Mill School as they participated in riding sessions designed to support young people with autism and communication needs.
The visit showcased the positive impact that equine-assisted activities can have on young people, helping them to develop confidence, communication skills and a sense of achievement in a supportive environment. The pupils represented the school brilliantly, demonstrating enthusiasm, determination and resilience throughout the day.
The Margaret Haes Riding Centre has been providing accessible riding opportunities for 60 years and continues to make a difference to the lives of children and young people across the region. The anniversary celebration provided a fitting opportunity to recognise the centre's work and the lasting benefits it brings to the community.
