Riley

Riley is a recent leaver. His mother Adele shares the impact Mill School Bury had for him.

“Before Mill School Bury, Riley was struggling emotionally, refusing school, and we were really worried. As soon as we walked in and met the staff, we were blown away. What stood out most was how willing they were to accommodate Riley’s autism assistance dog, Nimbus.

“She’s a game changer for him and Mill School welcomed her from day one. She came onto campus every single day with him, and that made all the difference.

“Having Nimbus with him meant he could achieve his potential and having a school that would listen to that and understand how important she was meant that he could excel. Coming to Mill School Bury was transformative for him. He not only reached his potential — he smashed his targets academically, socially, and emotionally.”

Riley has now moved on to Manchester College and is studying computing.
