The achievements of its most recent group of Year 11 leavers gave Fernways School much to celebrate.
The group of eight young people secured an impressive 197 qualifications, including GCSEs, Functional Skills, Entry Level qualifications and a wide range of Laser Learning Awards.
This year's results demonstrated success across a variety of academic and vocational pathways.
Highlights included:
- Every pupil achieved a qualification at Entry Level 3 or above in both English and maths
- 88% achieved qualifications at Entry Level or above across all three core subjects of English, maths and science.
Students achieved GCSEs in subjects including mathematics, photography and iMedia, alongside a broad range of Functional Skills, Entry Level and Laser Learning qualifications.
These achievements reflect Fernways School's commitment to providing personalised pathways that recognise and develop each student's strengths, interests and ambitions.
A particular highlight this year was one pupil whose journey since joining Fernways in Key Stage 3 demonstrates the impact of determination, perseverance and support.
Through consistent hard work, they achieved Grade 6s in both Photography and iMedia GCSE, alongside a Grade 5 in Mathematics and a Functional Skills qualification in English. Building on these successes and their passion for creative subjects, they are now progressing to study an Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology.
The achievements of Fernways pupils extend far beyond exam results. Each qualification represents an important step towards greater independence, confidence and future opportunities. The results are a testament to the dedication of the young people, supported by committed staff and families who have worked together to help them succeed.
